TEAMS and AMS

AMS - Asbestos Management Services are an established consultancy providing a full spectrum of UKAS accredited surveying, air monitoring, inspection and testing asbestos services. Established in 2006 it has grown to support a wide range of clients including national retail, large local authority, social housing groups, NHS trusts, main contractor construction companies and facilities management companies to large scale decommission projects.

AMS developed its own bespoke asbestos management system allowing the field staff to capture data on palmtops and smart phones ultimately providing the end product to the client on an online secure portal. As AMS developed a larger client base the pressure on the system, data requirements and need for more system support meant that more time was being spent on maintaining the system rather than developing the business. As a result of this AMS went to market to find a system that would fulfil all our requirements and provide a future proof system that works for our clients and would be well supported.

AMS not only needed a means to collect the survey data and manipulate once it was there but we also wanted to incorporate all our work scheduling, quotations, invoicing, lab analysis, air monitoring, contract review, quality system and create a formidable web based portal so our client could get easy access to their data, TEAMS covers all these requirements.

AMS have worked closely with the guys at TEAMS to develop the TEAMS web portal over the past two years. The Web portal was rolled out last March and is now being used by all our clients. There has been a great deal of improvements to the portal over the past 12 months and more exciting developments to come.

Big productivity gains for leading asbestos company

G&L Consultancy Ltd are one of the nations leading independent asbestos consultancies with offices in the south west of England and in Northern Ireland.

G&L carry out asbestos surveys to HSG264, bulk sample analysis and air monitoring including the 4 stage clearance following asbestos removal. G&L also carry out all forms of asbestos and related training and various Health and Safety services.

At the end of 2009 G&L were looking to improve their existing admin systems for booking in samples, recording site data and producing reports in order to reduce overheads on admin and increase profits. TEAMS was the answer.

TEAMS software is designed to fit around all requirements of the consultancy, incorporating the various UKAS and H&S requirements such as risk assessments and respirator face fit tests so they become integrated within the system.

TEAMS software links all processes together, starting from the quoting stage, booking appointments and carrying out the site data recording on site. Reports following air monitoring can be printed on site for the client, or the information easily transferred back to the TEAMS server to email to the client. All data for Survey reports is collected on site and then transferred back to have the photos and plans uploaded following the sample analysis ready to submit to the client. The descriptions of any bulk samples taken on site automatically appear on the bulk reports taken directly from the asbestos register so there is very little cross checking to do.

Since introducing TEAMS software, G&L have successfully reduced their admin overheads and are also now able to easily measure and manage all aspects of work to ensure processes are carried out as efficiently as possible.
