    Bulk Sample Analysis with TEAMS Software

    Asbestos sample jobs are dealt with in two ways with TEAMS. Either as a stand-alone sample job, or samples that have come from an asbestos survey performed with TEAMS.

    Stand-alone sample analysis

    This type of sample job involves samples supplied directly by a customer or client where an asbestos survey has not taken place with the TEAMS mobile app.

    Via this method, a new stand-alone sample job is created with the number of samples, sample descriptions and any site references entered into TEAMS before the samples are sent to the lab for analysis. Options for classification and turnaround can also be specified here.

    The appropriate number of Sample Analysis sheets are produced automatically for use in the lab while the analysis is taking place.

    Samples from an onsite surveys

    When samples requiring analysis are from an asbestos survey performed with TEAMS mobile, the bulk sample job reads the survey information, pulls out the sample details along with any related site references and notes, and sets the job up automatically ready to receive the results.

    All of this process is done automatically as soon as the surveyor transfers the survey from the TEAMS mobile app.

    Recording your observations

    Either with a touchscreen or with a mouse, lab technicians can use TEAMS to track and record sample observations as they perform the analysis in the lab.

    Final Approval

    Once the samples have been analysed, the results are automatically stored against the samples along with the technician who performed the analysis, the sample classification if required and any appropriate notes.

    Before the bulk sample analysis report can be produced, the results must be approved by the approving officer. Once approved, the signature of the approver is applied to the report and time stamped.

    Once the approval process is completed, the report is moved automatically to the completed sample reports section. All reports can be generated again at any point by simply clicking the PDF icon next to the completed report.

    Sample QC is a necessary task for any busy lab that have technicians that go above the current points per day threshold.

    To complement the TEAMS sample analysis system, the built-in sample QC functions allow you to easily monitor, perform and review sample QC checks.

    The QC overview screen is designed to be the central hub where all information can be viewed at a glance to see the state of play in the lab.

    Commonly requested information has been grouped together to quickly and accurately find when and where sample QC has taken place and needs to take place. This can be done for individual lab technicians or for the whole lab team collectively.

    Alongside the overview information, a detailed log of all samples analysed on a given day is shown here along with the individual technician's automatic points tally for all samples analysed. This allows you to see at a glance their progress as well as cherry pick samples for QC'ing.

    Fibre observation screen (in blind QC mode)

    Once you have picked out the samples you wish to QC check, these are automatically loaded into the TEAMS Sample Analysis screen in QC Mode.

    QC mode allows you to use the TEAMS Sample Analysis Screen to capture further fibre observations while hiding the original results; allowing you to perform blind QC.

    Once the QC analysis is complete, the system compares the new result with the original result and prompts if these are different. Depending on the job's progress through the system, the results can either be updated immediately or the system can prompt for a supplementary report to be produced if the original report has already been approved.

    All changes as well as the actual QC fibre observations are logged and audited in TEAMS for future reference and further reporting.

    Once sample QC has been completed, the main overview screen is updated automatically to show you at a glance which samples have been QC'ed, by whom and when this quality check was performed.

    Built directly into TEAMS, the Sample Exchange allows samples collected by one TEAMS consultancy to be "checked out" to another TEAMS consultancy with a lab.

    Once received by the lab, the samples can be downloaded from the Sample Exchange and "checked in" to appear automatically in the TEAMS lab screens ready for analysis.

    Once the normal TEAMS sample analysis process is complete, the Sample Exchange automatically collects the results, classifications and PDF bulk reports and delivers them back to the consultancy from where they originated.

    When the lab performing the analysis indicates the type of material, a second dropdown list will appear displaying a list of client specific material descriptions from the original consultant. This is automatically drawn from the original consultant when the samples are "checked out".

    The labs own material description opinion is still shown on the certificate, but the consultant receiving the data back from the lab with also receive material descriptions they are familiar with also.

    How quickly can I expect my sample results back?

    Thanks to the recent improvements, you can now expect to find your results and certificates delivered back to your TEAMS server as quickly as 15 minutes after your lab has approved them.

    These results require no admin involvement, and will update your survey reports and findings automatically.
